Burton M. Lyvers, Jr. 87, of Fishers,  formerly Shelbyville

Burton M. Lyvers, Jr. 87, of Fishers,  former Shelbyville resident, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Community North Hospital.

 

Born February 15, 1934 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Burton M. Lyvers, Sr and Hester (Long) Lyvers. He married Gloria (Bonds) Lyvers of South Bend, and she survives.

 

Other survivors include children- Gail Marie Lyvers of Fishers, Gregory Lee Lyvers (Phyllis Smith) of Indianapolis and Ray Lyvers (Jennifer) of Shelbyville; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter

Marsha Scruggs, brother Bernard Brown and grandson Courtney Sarver.

 

Mr. Lyvers had lived in Indianapolis for 53 years and Hamilton County for one year, and graduated from Shelbyville High School. Burton had been employed with Indianapolis Post Office doing vehicle maintenance for 36 years and had been a bus driver with Lawrence Township for several years, and had served in the 

Marine Corp. Burton was a hard worker who loved his job. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacer's fan, he enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, and loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd.

 

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

 

Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of the  service. A military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion.
