Frederick W. McComas Jr., 91, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 

at Waldron Health Care,

Born March 10, 1931 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Frederick McComas and

Marie (Monroe) Achenbach.  He married Delphia (Meadows) McComas on Nov.

24, 1954 and she preceded him on March 14, 2020.

Survivors include 2 children- Michael F. McComas (wife Rebecca) of Waldron,

Jill L. Camp (husband John) of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- Brandon Camp, Ryan

DeVoe, Conner McComas, and Ashlee Garrett.  He was preceded in death by

his parents, his spouse, daughter Michelle Cook, and a grandson William McComas.

Mr. McComas was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville

High School.  He worked in the shipping department at General Electric/Wellman's, retiring after 28 years of service. 

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a US Navy Korean War veteran.

Fred was an avid Shelbyville Golden Bear basketball fan, and attended all their games, at home and away, and enjoyed watching Indiana University basketball, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.

Graveside services will be 10:00am on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Beth Crouch officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Memorial Committee.
