Jenny Sue Dugan, 85, of Shelbyville

Jenny Sue Dugan, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at her home.

She was born September 24, 1936, in Sunman, the daughter of John Elmer and Gayle C. (Fisher) Nedderman. On December 33, 1954, she married William J. “Bill” Dugan, and he preceded her in death on November 13, 2013.

Jenny is survived by her daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” DeMoss and husband, Jay, of Shelbyville; brother, John F. Nedderman and wife, Betty, of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Emily Keller and husband, Steve, Natalie Browning and husband, Kenny, Michelle Rupert and husband, Justin, Jenny DeMoss and Joe Dugan; great-grandchildren, Brayden Ronan, Grace Browning, Ava Browning, Michael Dugan, Ellianna Keller, Amelia Rupert and Parker Rupert; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Bill, Jenny was preceded in death by her parents; sons, James Allen “Jamie” Dugan and Michael Jay Dugan; and sister, Joyce Nedderman.

Jenny graduated in 1954 from Shelbyville High School.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Jenny and her husband, Bill, were the former owners of Dugan’s Flower Shop. They also formerly owned and operated, The Fiddler’s Three Restaurant and Pub and The Bavarian Haus.

She and Bill were adventurous travelers, visiting many places including numerous trips to Europe, England, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Hawaii and Costa Rica. They never made a reservation when they were traveling. Jenny and Bill made many lasting friendships while traveling, and many of those friends would stop and visit them when they came to the United States.

Jenny also enjoyed gardening, reading, boating and playing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the family farm in Madison, where she could spend time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Steve Bohall officiating.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
