Ruby Williamson Holzhausen, 89, of Shelbyville

On Monday, May 9, 2022, God took Ruby Williamson Holzhausen, 89, of Shelbyville, into His everlasting arms, while surrounded by her family at home. 

 

She was born June 4,1932 in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of Henry and Telphus (Loveless) Williamson. She married Fredrick "Dale" Holzhausen on February 16,1951 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2020.

 

Survivors include her son, Stephen (Kristy) Holzhausen and daughter, Regina Holzhausen, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Michael (Dana) Holzhausen of Greenfield, Bambi (Jason) Garrison of Shelbyville, Christopher (Ashley) of Columbus and Andrew Holzhausen; great grandchildren, Tristian, Ryleigh, Chloe, Macy, Jake, Colton, Julie, Elle, Parker and Kenny; and great great grandchild, Wrenley. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Holzhausen; brother, Jewel "Red" Williamson and sister, Hazel Reaves.

 

Ruby moved to Shelbyville in 1943. She retired from Reed Construction and previously worked for Kaufman Insurance. She was a wonderful southern cook, loved weekends preparing scrumptious meals and playing games with the family.

 

She was an avid bargain/treasure hunter and always had someone in mind for her bargains/treasures.

 

She had a big heart, willing to help someone in need. She modeled patience, strength, excellent character and integrity throughout her life, leaving a rich legacy for her family. Ruby dearly loved her family and her God. She was a 72 year member of Apostolic Tabernacle.

 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 1500 Miller Avenue, Shelbyville, with Pastor Daniel McDonald and Rev. Tim Streeval officiating.

 

Visitation will be at the church Saturday, May 14,2022 from 11a.m. until service time.

 

Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
