Maxwell Steven "Max" Musgrave, 16, of Shelbyville

Maxwell Steven “Max” Musgrave, 16, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

 

He was born May 24, 2005, in Indianapolis, the son of Jessica Musgrave.

 

Max is survived by his mother, Jessica Musgrave and companion, John Renbarger, of Shelbyville; grandmother, Denise “Nan” Musgrave of Shelbyville; brother, Cooper Leffler of Shelbyville; sister, Erika Renbarger of Shelbyville; aunt, Sarah “Gigi” Lewis and husband, Wade, of Shelbyville; and cousins, Colin Mohr, Connor Mohr and Hannah Mohr.

 

He was preceded in death by his best buddy and grandpa, Steven “Pappy” Musgrave.

 

Max was a junior at Shelbyville High School, where he participated with Synergy for two years. He was studying to be a diesel mechanic at the Blue River Careers Program.

 

He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Max loved dogs.

 

Max loved his grandparents and especially enjoyed helping his “Nan”.

 

He was a true friend and was loved by all. Max was the best hugger, had the kindest heart, and was a doting son, brother and cousin.

 

He never left without saying “I Love You”.

 

By being an organ donor, Max helped save the lives of two people.

 

Private family services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Blue River Community Foundation, Max Musgrave Memorial Scholarship Fund, 54 W. Broadway St., Suite 1, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
