Shirley M. Gephart, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Heritage House in Shelbyville.

She was born January 24, 1939, in Shelby County, the daughter of Leslie and Mary E. (Sills) Andrews.  On January 20, 1958, she married her husband on 64 years, Kenneth Gephart, and he survives.

In addition to Kenneth, Shirley is survived by her children, Tammy Carter and husband, Leigh, of Indianapolis, Kevin Gephart and wife, Ginny, of Milroy, and Sandra Farbar of Rushville; sister, Susie Murdock of Aberdeen, Maryland; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley graduated in 1957 from Moral Township High School.

She was a member of Ray’s Crossing Christian Union Church.

Shirley was a caregiver at nursing homes and hospices.

She enjoyed going fishing and traveling.

Shirley loved the time she spent with her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Children Hospital.
