Wanda K. Blocher, 74, of Shelbyville

Wanda K. Blocher, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

 

She was born January 6, 1948 in Indianapolis to Lee Vernon Ginn and Mammie Ruth (Ramsey) Ginn.

 

Wanda graduated from Triton Central High School in 1967.

 

She was a CNA at Heritage House before retiring in 2014.

 

Wanda wasn’t just a mother to her children, she was also their best friend and confidant.  The love she had for her family is forever lasting and true.  She was a true inspiration.

 

She married Russell Allan Blocher on June 5, 1969 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2016.

 

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Kathy Blocher (Joseph) Lytle, of Flat Rock, her sons, Brent (Cheryl) Blocher of Shelbyville, and Thomas (Anna) Blocher of Waldron, her brother, Marvin L. Ginn, of Anderson; her sister, Carolyn S. Hudgins Ginn, of Shelbyville; her step-brothers, James F. Cheek and Robert W. Cheek, Sr.; 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her step-mother, Florence (Cox) Ginn.

 

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 at the funeral home with Reverend Marcy Patrick officiating.

 

Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Wanda’s family.
