Jerry Lee Stainbrook, 78, of Shelbyville

Jerry Lee Stainbrook, 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at

his residence.

 

He was born on February 12, 1944 in Decatur County, the son of Lloyd and Helen

(Pike) Stainbrook.  Jerry graduated salutatorian from Southwestern High School in 1962.

 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters- Mary May, Reba Fern, Debbie Louise, a brother Jay C.; and son-in-law James Vernon Gaskins.  Jerry is 

survived by his wife Marlinda Cesinger, that he married on February 18, 2007; his children- Jacinda Jill Stainbrook, James Paul Stainbrook (wife Kim), Julianna Gaskins, Theresa Penick (husband John) and many other loving family members.

 

As a young man he enjoyed racing with his brother Jay, and raised many animals on his farm in Marietta.  He retired from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus in 1995, where he was a metallurgical engineer for 30 years.  In later years, he was a champion pie and cake maker, winning many first-place prizes.  Jerry enjoyed running the karaoke show as a member of the American Legion in Shelbyville.  In his spare time, he enjoyed carpentry and gardening, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.

 

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral  Home, 437 Amos Road. 

 

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. 

 

Friends may call on Friday morning from10:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
