Willie “Doyle” Kennedy, 77, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2022 at his residence.

He was born May 17, 1945 in Itawamba, MS. to Cecil Kennedy and Dora (Wilemon) Kennedy.

Doyle was a former member of the Moose Lodge 2118. He was employed as a woodworker with Old Hickory Furniture before spending 13 years with Flat Rock Furniture until they closed.

Fishing was his favorite pastime. In his down time, he enjoyed watching his old westerns.

His family was very important to him. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doyle will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Ann (Watson) Kennedy, his daughters, Elizabeth Kennedy of Greensburg, Patricia Phelps (husband, Jameson) and Sharon Johnson (husband, Bobby) all of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Joshua, Josiah, Derek, Matthew, Adam, and Cierra; his
great-granddaughter, Violet, his sisters, Mary and Ann, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and granddaughter, Heather.

Friends may gather from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

A Celebration of Life will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Reverend David Humphrey officiating.
