Frances A. “Fran” Schowengerdt, age 7,5 of Greenfield, passed away October 18, 2022, at Hancock Health.

She was born July 9, 1947, in Indianapolis to the late Miles W. and Mary E. (Vandivier) Payne. Fran was a 1965 graduate of Howe High School. She then married her loving husband John Schowengerdt on June 18, 1966.

Fran was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to spend time at the beach, but above all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Prior to retiring, Fran worked at Bradley UMC Preschool and Hallmark.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Nichole (David) Lyon, and Ashley (Jonathan) Brown; grandchildren, Victoria (Wesley) Addleman, Nicholas Lyon, and Mia Brown; and siblings, Charles (Ann) Payne, John (Mary) Payne, Cindy Raia, and Linda (Tom) Miller.

Fran is preceded in death by her parents, mentioned above, and sister, Helen Jean Mullins.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with Pastor David Woods officiating.

Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
