Alice Faye (Murrell) Chance, 70, of Shelbyville

Alice Faye (Murrell) Chance, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away, Saturday, November 5, 2022, at her home.

She was born May 27, 1952, in Columbia, Kentucky, the daughter of Fred and Carrie Lois (Hawkins) Murrell.  On December 17, 1972, she married Thomas Andrew Chance, and he survives.

In addition to Tom, Alice is survived by her sons, Daniel Chance and wife, Donna, and James Chance and wife, Tammy, both of Shelbyville; daughters, Lois Chance of Shelbyville, and Dorthy Ditman and husband, David, of Rushville; sisters, Joyce Aulby and  Sharon Murrell, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Matthew Chance, Kaleb Chance, Elizabeth Peterson, Alexander Peterson, Rebecca Peterson, Saber Chance-Fisher, Devon Ditman, Nathaniel Ditman Kadence Ditman and Sarah Beth Ditman; great-grandson, Caden Burris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Murrell, Marilyn Burks and Martha Holland; brothers, Elzy Murrell, Robert Murrell and Archie Murrell; and grandson, Nathaniel Voss.

Alice was a member of Highpoint Wesleyan Chapel in Beech Grove.

She loved raising her family and enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Alice always made certain everyone had food.

Private family services will be held.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
