Cora Sue (Abbott) Haney-Demaster, 77, Greenfield

Cora Sue (Abbott) Haney-Demaster, 77, Greenfield, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born on August 5, 1945, in Cabell, KY, to Edd and Ima (Weston) Abbott. Cora is a 1963 graduate of New Palestine High School.

 

Cora was employed as a real estate agent with Johnson & Dudley and then as an administrative assistant for BMG Records. She loved music, dancing, reading, and aimlessly driving here and there to get out and about and explore. In her younger years, Cora was on a bowling league and a dart league. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She attended Franklin Road Baptist Church. She married James Edward Demaster on September 23, 1988.

 

Cora is survived by her loving husband Jim of 34 years; children: Barbara (Robert) Riddle, Joseph (Heather) Haney, and Nathan Demaster; grandchildren: Keegan Riddle, Kira Schnabel, Caleb Riddle, Michael Haney, and Rebecca Haney; siblings: Ed Abbott, Troy Abbott, Reba Abbott, Jean Relford, and Opal Spragg; sisters-in-law: Louanna Canter and Mary Ellen Harvey; and good friend and father of her children, Toad Haney.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Jonathan Haney; and sister, Shirley Blankenship.

 

A visitation will be on Thursday, November 17, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, New Palestine Chapel, 19 East Main Street, New Palestine, as well as an additional visitation on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, also at the funeral home.

 

The service will start at 12 noon officiated by Pastor Chuck Circle.

 

Burial will take place in New Palestine Cemetery.
