Harold R. Durbin, 92, of Shelbyville

Harold R. Durbin, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away March 8, 2023 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. 

 

Born in Shelby County on February 22, 1931 to William Durbin and Bertha (Stickford) Durbin, he married Isabell Fay (Kuhn) Durbin on July 22, 1950 and she preceded him in death on October 22, 1999.

 

Survivors include daughters Deborah Pavey (Joseph) of Manilla, Linda Jenkins (Russell) of Rushville, son Steve Durbin (Donna) of Manilla, daughter Joyce Miller of Rushville; brother Dale Durbin (Rosalie) of Homer, sister Janice Speheger 

(Kent) of Noblesville; 10 grandchildren, and 10 Great great grandchildren.

 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, 2 brothers Willard and Fred Durbin, 2 sisters Katherine Comstock and Joan Ragsdale.

 

Mr. Durbin was a lifetime resident of this area, and had been  employed at KCL Corporation for 46 years until retiring. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Church. 

 

Harold was a bee keeper and a 4h leader for several years, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 4-7pm at the Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville

 

Funeral services will be at the Zion Evangelical Church, 7025 E. 100 N, Shelbyville,  on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11am with Pastor Brad Schultz officiating.

 

Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Shelby County.

 

Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Evangelical Church in care of the funeral home.
