Peter Donald Hall

Peter Donald Hall passed away at his residence on March 21, 2023. 

He was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on July 3, 1949, the son of Donald and Wilma (Lux) Hall

He was married on December 3, 1977 to Katrina (Everhart) Hall, who survives.

Peter was a 1967 graduate of Shelbyville High School and attended Ball State University. Afterwards, he served in the United States Air Force for four years, most of which was spent at the Lakenheath Air Force Base in England.  

He retired in 2019 from Vicon Industries, having worked in the security and life safety systems industry for 40 years.

He is survived by his children Matthew (Cassie) Hall of West Lafayette, Indiana and Ashley “Nikki” (Noah) Wethington, of Franklin, Tennessee and grandchildren Liam, Logan, and Owen of Hall and Olivia, Nash and Finn Wethington. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Ferguson, of Yakima Washington, Pauline (Steven) Lancaster, of Shelbyville, Indiana, Greg (Karen Bowman) Hall of Shelbyville, Indiana, Ginny (John) Bogemann, of Shelbyville Indiana, and John (Phil Darrah) Hall, of Indianapolis, Indiana and his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Elaine and John Arnold and his brother-in-law Ron Ferguson as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law Harry and Betty Everhart.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who never missed an opportunity to share the latest achievement or adventure of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and was particularly a fan of the Purdue Boilermakers later in his life, converting in connection with his children’s attendance at Purdue University. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Knights of Columbus, cooking many Friday night dinners featuring “Hall of Fame” fried chicken. In good weather he could be found working in his yard or garden, which he enjoyed collaborating with his wife to perfect each year.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to  1 p.m. Monday,  March 27, 2023 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN. 46176.

Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military rites being conducted by our local veterans organizations.
