Richard "Dick" A. Lux, 79, of Indianapolis

Richard "Dick" A. Lux, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Wellbrooke of Avon.
 

He was born February 17, 1944 in Shelbyville, IN. to Leo Lux and Virginia (Peek) Lux.
 

Dick graduated from Waldron High School in 1962 where he was a varsity letterman in basketball and track while holding records in the hurdles.
 

DIck honorably served his county in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed playing basketball and running track while he was in the service.
 

He worked at Van Camp Hardware Store prior to spending 31 years with H. Hoffman Lock & Safe as a sales manager until he retired. Dick loved watching sports, especially Notre Dame. He was also an avid coin collector. Some of his favorite pastimes were golfing and fishing. He always enjoyed being
able to go on golfing and fishing trips.
 

Dick is survived by his son, Clay Lux of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Kelly Elizabeth Davis (husband, Brent) of Plainfield, IN.; grandchildren, Noah Davis and Kassidy Hummel; great-grandson, Hudson Hummel; sisters, Lois Weaver of Shelbyville, IN., Barbara Gahimer (husband, Don) of Waldron, IN., Judy Weaver (husband, Earl) of Waldron, IN., Nancy Rehn (husband, Charles) of Bargersville, IN.
 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen Lux.
 

Visitation will be Tuesday May 16, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703
S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
 

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Mike Keucher officiating.
 

Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery with military rites conducted by our local veteran organizations.
 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, Stuart Parks, and Darin Schutt are honored to serve Dick’s family.
