Triton Central’s Oliver Gearlds collected the medalist honor Monday at Hawk’s Tail Golf Course in Greenfield but the host, New Palestine, earned the team victory, 188-211.

Gearlds carded 37 for nine holes to lead Triton Central. Evan Uhls followed with a 46. Maxwell Ray (61) and Caleb Anderson (67) completed the Tigers’ scorecard. Hendrix Davidson posted 70.

All five New Palestine golfers shot 47 or better led by Braeden Baker’s 44. Matt Burada carded 45, Evan Griffith and Gus Wallen each shot 46 and Sammy Chifalo shot 47.

Triton Central returns to the golf course Wednesday to face Eastern Hancock.
