Triton Central's Gearlds wins Hauser Invitational title

Triton Central’s Oliver Gearlds carded an 18-hole score of 73 Saturday at Otter Creek East to be crowned medalist of the Hauser Invitational.

 

Gearlds’ Tigers finished fourth in the 11-team field.

 

Greenwood Christian captured the team title with a score of 325. North Decatur finished runner-up at 344. Scottsburg (356), Triton Central (368) and Henryville (370) completed the top five.

 

Heritage Christian (384) was sixth followed by Hauser (386), Morristown (407), Trinity Lutheran (410), Southwestern (433), and Edinburgh (436).

 

Gearlds defeated Scottsburg’s Ryan Rockey by two strokes to earn the top individual honor. A trio of Greenwood Christian golfers – Sutton Piercefield (77), Coen Bauschek (78) and Ian Reed (79) – followed on the scoreboard.

 

Morristown’s Asher Caldwell placed ninth with an 84.

 

Nick Stidham (106), Jordan Battles (108), Collin Essex (109) and Kyle Crim (116) completed the Yellow Jackets’ scorecard.

 

Evan Uhls shot 88 for Triton Central. Caleb Anderson shot 98 followed by Griffin Sego (109) and Max Ray (121).

 

Caleb Pappano topped Southwestern’s scorecard at 101. Justin Swift shot 105. Ty Burcham followed at 113 and Tristan Pappano had 114.
