SHS softball scores 18 runs to get 18th win of season

Class 4A, No. 7-ranked Shelbyville improved to 18-2 Friday with an 18-0 victory over visiting Triton Central.

 

Hailey Pogue pitched three scoreless innings and struck out seven to get the win. Brooke Lipperd pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

 

Savanna Trueblood took the loss for Triton Central.

 

Karissa Hamilton and Kiley McIver had home runs for the Golden Bears.

 

Pogue went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double. Hamilton went 3-for-4 with five RBIs.

 

Katie Mathies and Kylee Edwards each had two hits.

 

Trueblood had the only two hits for the Tigers.

 

Shelbyville is scheduled to host Franklin tonight.
