Win No. 13 for Triton Central girls tennis proved tough to collect.
The Tigers got a pair of dominant performances at No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles but needed Emma Hutchinson and Alyssa Wheatley to defeat Hauser's Gabby Johns and Charlie Clark, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2 doubles Tuesday to complete a 3-2 victory.
At No. 1 singles, Triton Central's Brooklyn Schiffli defeated Andie Clark, 6-0. 6-1.
Julia Sanders cruised past Hauser's Kaitlynn Everroad at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Hauser's Bella Kilps bested Triton Central's Lelia Chougule, 6-4, 7-6 (5), at No. 3 singles.
Aunaka Wasil and Emily Harker topped TC's Ainsley Denton and Kelsey McGuire at No. 1 doubles, 7-5, 6-0.
The Tigers ended the regular season at 13-0 with wins in the Shelby County Tournament and the Indiana Crossroads Conference Tournament.
TC opens sectional play today at 5 p.m. at Shelbyville HIgh School against Southwestern.
In junior varsity matches, Triton Central's Olivia Martin and Sarah Williams won singles matches. Jazmine Castillo and Courtney Washburn won a doubles match.
