Triton Central rolled past Morristown and Shelbyville won all three singles matches to dispatch of Waldron to set up the Shelbyville Tennis Sectional championship match.
The Tigers improved to 15-0 this season with a 5-0 win over the Yellow Jackets Thursday at Shelbyville High School.
Brooklyn Schiffli (No. 1 singles), Julia Sanders (No. 2 singles) and Emma Hutchinson and Alyssa Wheatley (No. 2 doubles) did not lose a game in sweeping their opponents, 6-0, 6-0.
Schiffli defeated Emma Theobald while Sanders bested Beth Hodgin.
Hutchinson and Wheatley topped Briana Batton and McKinley Kile.
At No. 1 doubles, Ainsley Denton and Kelsey McGuire defeated Morristown’s Ryeland Brewer and Sarah Essex, 6-1, 6-0.
The only contested match came at No. 3 singles where Lelia Chougule overcame Aubrea Trattner, 6-2, 1-6, 10-2.
Shelbyville collected singles victories from Gabrielle Knox and Jaiden Tackett at No. 1 singles and No. 2 singles, respectively. Waldron did not have a No. 3 singles representative which gave the Golden Bears a forfeit victory and enough match wins to reach the sectional championship.
At No. 1 doubles, Waldron’s Megan Bogemann and Mackenzie Shaw (photo) defeated Shelbyville’s Emma Sandman and Adeline Haacker, 7-5, 6-1, to advance into next week’s doubles sectional tournament at Center Grove High School.
Waldron’s Amanda Brinson and Josee Larrison won at No. 2 doubles, 6-7 (3), 7-5, 10-4.
