Waldron senior Tyler Bowlby qualified for track and field regional competition Thursday with a personal-best long jump mark.
Competing at the Columbus North Sectional, Bowlby jumped 21 feet, 1.5 inches to finish third and automatically qualify for next week’s Warren Central Regional.
Center Grove senior Connor Delp won the long jump with a best mark of 21-7.5. Fellow Center Grove senior Jackson Schott was runner-up at 21-3.5.
Bowlby was the only Shelby County athlete to advance out of the Columbus North Sectional.
Waldron finished eighth in the team standings; Southwestern was 10th.
