Triton Central tennis advanced into the regional championship with a 3-2 victory over Roncalli Tuesday at the Center Grove Sectional.

The Tigers’ top two singles players continued dominant seasons with straight-set wins Tuesday.

At No. 1 singles, Brooklyn Schiffli defeated Roncalli’s Claire Wagner, 6-4, 6-4.

Julia Sanders topped Rebecca Zakrowski at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Triton Central’s third win came at No. 1 doubles where Ainsley Denton and Kelsey McGuire defeated Lauren Prather and Cambri Lux, 6-2, 7-5.

Roncalli’s Lili Wisler bested Lelia Chougule at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

And at No. 2 doubles, Elsie Kerr and Katrina Gangstad needed a second-set tiebreaker to topple TC’s Alyssa Wheatley and Emma Hutchinson, 6-1, 7-6 (7).

In the other regional semifinal Tuesday, No. 8-ranked Center Grove eliminated Southport, 5-0.

Triton Central (17-0) will face Center Grove at 4:30 p.m. today in the regional championship match.

In the sectional round of the state doubles tournament Tuesday at Center Grove, Franklin’s Haylie Rayl and Chelsea Rayl defeated Waldron’s Megan Bogemann and Mackenzie Shaw, 6-2, 6-3.
