Triton Central tennis’ 17-match win streak ended Wednesday with a 5-0 loss to No. 8 Center Grove in the IHSAA tennis regional championship match.
Center Grove collected its sixth-straight regional championship with dominant performances in four of the five matches.
At No. 1 singles, Ashlee Fisk defeated Brooklyn Schiffli, 6-1, 6-0.
Sonya Vyas had a tougher time with Julia Sanders at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 7-5.
Deepthi Shankar topped Lelia Chougule at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 1 doubles, Sydney Plowman and Sapna Vyas defeated Ainsley Denton and Kelsey McGuire, 6-0, 6-0.
And at No. 2 doubles, Lauren Dick and Hudson Gilstorf bested Alyssa Wheatley and Emma Hutchinson, 6-0, 6-0.
Triton Central completed its season with a 17-1 record and champions of the Shelby County Tournament and the Indiana Crossroads Conference Tournament.
