The high school softball season in Shelby County closed Wednesday with Morristown suffering a 16-1 sectional loss to Edinburgh.

The host Lancers scored six times in the second and fourth innings to secure the sectional victory.

In the other Edinburgh Sectional semifinal game, Lutheran defeated Greenwood Christian, 3-2.

Lutheran will face Edinburgh at 5:30 p.m. today in the sectional championship game.

Catey Streeval and Kaitlyn Bailey each had two hits for Edinburgh (15-10). Streeval had four runs batted in.

Three Lancers pitchers allowed just one Morristown hit, walked three and struck out seven.
