Prep Report: Edinburgh sits at No. 2 in AP Class A basketball poll

Edinburgh entered Tuesday night’s Johnson County Tournament game with Greenwood unbeaten and ranked No. 2 in the state.

The Lancers suffered their first loss, in overtime to the Woodmen, but will stay at No. 2 for another week in the Associated Press boys basketball state poll.

North Daviess (12-1) remains No. 1 in Class A ahead of Edinburgh (11-1), Bloomfield (11-1), Gary 21st Century (7-2), Loogootee (11-3), Lutheran (8-2), Jac-Cen-Del (7-2), Barr-Reeve (8-6), Tindley (6-3) and Triton (6-2).

In Class 2A, Central Noble (12-0) is unbeaten and top-ranked.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian (11-1) is No. 2 ahead of Linton-Stockton (13-1), Monroe Central (10-0), Carroll (Flora) (9-0), Eastside (12-0), Clinton Prairie (12-1), Lake Station (9-0), Southmont (8-1) and Eastern Hancock (8-2).

Leo (8-1) is the No. 1 team in Class 3A ahead of Brebeuf (9-2), NorthWood (12-1), John Glenn (11-0), Mishawaka Marian (9-2), Chatard (11-0), Peru (11-0), Sullivan (10-1), Brownstown Central (8-2) and New Castle (9-2).

The No. 1 team in Class 4A is Zionsville (9-1).

Chesterton (11-0) is No. 2 followed by Westfield (9-2), Carmel (9-3), Fishers (12-2), Valparaiso (11-2), Cathedral (10-3), Penn (9-1), Tech (11-2) and Pike (8-1).
