Kaliyah Brown produced a standout performance Thursday at Connersville but the Golden Bears gymnastics team could not seal the win over the Spartans.

Connersville won the meet over Shelbyville, 88.2-82.15.

Brown (photo, far right) won two events and finished runner-up in two more to win the all-around competition. She took first place in the vault and floor exercise and was second on the uneven bars and balance beam.

Also for Shelbyville, Ruby Garner finished third in the vault; Renee Aldridge (photo, second from left) was third on the balance beam and fifth in the floor exercise and uneven bars; and Ella Griggs was sixth on the uneven bars and balance beam.

Shelbyville will travel to Roncalli Saturday.
