Morristown closes regular season with four straight wins

Morristown’s girls basketball program closed out its regular season with four straight wins after a 45-22 victory Friday at the Bee Hive over Edinburgh.

Nevaeh Sanders led the Yellow Jackets (13-9, 4-2 Mid-Hoosier Conference) with 15 points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Gracie Laster scored nine points and Raegan Kleine finished with eight points and six rebounds.

Morristown trailed 8-7 after one quarter but held a 13-12 lead at halftime then outscored the Lancers (8-10, 1-4 MHC) 32-10 in the second half to secure a third-place finish in the conference standings behind Waldron and North Decatur.

Also for Morristown Friday, Danika Rutledge had six points, seven rebounds and five steals. Alexia Rogers added five points.

Morristown travels to Waldron Wednesday for its sectional opener against Southwestern (12-10). Tipoff is scheduled for approximately 7:30 p.m.
