Triton Central stays unbeaten in conference games with Homecoming win over Scecina

Triton Central kept itself at the top of the Indiana Crossroads Conference standings Friday night with a 65-47 Homecoming win over Indianapolis Scecina.

The host Tigers (9-7, 3-0 ICC) led 43-31 after three quarters then produced a 22-point fourth quarter to top the Crusaders (7-8, 0-3 ICC).

Caleb Miller and Alex Crouse combined for 12 fourth-quarter points and led Triton Central overall with 17 points and 16 points, respectively.

Scecina scored just three points in the opening quarter to fall behind 15-3. Layden Adair scored six of his team-high 17 points in the second quarter but his Crusaders trailed 31-17 at halftime.

Keaton Thibo and Jaylen Long each scored nine points for Scecina. David Mendez finished with eight.

Beech Grove (9-5, 3-0 ICC) and Triton Central are tied atop the ICC standings with Ritter (5-8, 3-1 ICC) one game back in the loss column.

 

 

Triton Central had its three-game win streak snapped Saturday night at South Decatur.

The Tigers trailed by 11 at halftime and cut the deficit to 53-51 after three quarters but could not complete the comeback.

Hunter Johnson scored 37 points to lead South Decatur to a 72-64 win. Johnson also had nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Jacob Scruggs finished with 15 points and six assists for South Decatur (8-8). Evan Wullenweber had 10 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots.

Caleb Miller led Triton Central (9-8) with 21 points. Kemper finished with 14.

Triton Central returns to action Saturday at noon at Oldenburg Academy (3-10).
