Class A, No. 2 Edinburgh defeats Morristown Friday at Bee Hive

Nick Stidham scored a game-high 21 points but Knightstown’s balance was too much for Morristown to overcome Saturday night.

Four of the Panthers’ starters scored between nine and 13 points to get Knightstown a 54-38 victory and end a 6-game losing streak.

Mason Fields and Brayden McDaniel each scored 13 points for Knightstown (3-10) while Michael Roberson had 11 and Karson Stiner finished with nine.

Morristown (1-13) trailed 14-7 after one quarter and managed just a Stidham three pointer in the second quarter to fall behind 25-10 at halftime.

Stidham was the only Yellow Jacket to reach double digits in the scoring column. Cade Mahin finished with eight points.

On Friday, Class A, No. 2 Edinburgh got 28 points from junior Caleb Dewey, who surpassed 1,000 career points, in a 69-49 win at Morristown.

Dewey scored just four points in the first quarter but totaled 21 in the middle two quarters to help the Lancers (14-1, 5-0 Mid-Hoosier Conference) open up a 34-14 lead at halftime and a 55-33 advantage after three quarters.

Travis Jones scored 16 for Edinburgh and Riley Palmeter had 11.

Stidham topped Morristown with 23 points, 21 in the second half, and Nolan Laster had 17.
