The Indiana High School Athletic Association revealed the sectional pairings Monday night for the 47th Annual IHSAA Girls Tennis State Tournament.
All five Shelby County girls tennis programs will compete at Shelbyville High School with one quarterfinal match today, two semifinals Thursday and the championship match slated for Friday.
Southwestern (2-12) will face Morristown (0-13) for a second time this season today at Shelbyville. The Spartans defeated the Yellow Jackets, 5-0, on April 28.
The winner advances to Thursday’s semifinal against Triton Central (15-3). The Tigers swept Morristown twice this season and defeated Southwestern, 4-1, on April 22.
In the other semifinal Thursday, the host Golden Bears (10-11) take on Waldron (7-8). The Mohawks lost 3-2 at Shelbyville on April 20.
Triton Central has defeated Shelbyville and Waldron twice this season.
The Shelbyville Sectional champion advances to the Center Grove Regional on Tuesday to battle the Southport Sectional champ.
The second regional semifinal pits the Center Grove Sectional winner against the Franklin Central Sectional winner.
The Center Grove Sectional features No. 11 Franklin and No. 18 Center Grove.
A total of 306 schools will compete for the state championship.
