Morristown High School adding four outstanding basketball players to Athletic Hall of Fame

Morristown High School is adding four basketball players to its Athletic Hall of Fame who scored more than 7,500 career points.

The 2023 Hall of Fame inductees are Brady Adkins, Dylan Langkabel, Hayden Langkabel and Michaela Kikendall.

The induction ceremony will take place Jan. 20 prior to the boys varsity basketball game against North Decatur. There will be a banquet before the game to honor the inductees.

Brady Adkins

The 1992 graduate of Morristown High School was the career scoring leader with 2,112 points upon graduation. He led the state in scoring in 1991 with an average of 36.8 ppg and again in 1992 at 33.5 ppg.

Adkins still holds the single-game scoring record with 56 points against Waldron in 1991, and he scored 40 or more points in 15 more games.

Dylan Langkabel

Langkabel (main photo) graduated in 2012 as Morristown’s second-leading scorer with 2,072 points. He was the MVP of the Shelby County Tournament in 2011 and 2012, and was named the Shelby County Player of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Langkabel went on to play college basketball at Northwood University in Michigan.

Hayden Langkabel

The younger brother of Dylan Langkabel graduated in 2018 as Morristown’s career scoring leader with 2,186 points. He also is the program leader in career free-throw percentage, assists and steals.

 

 

Langkabel averaged 27 ppg as a junior and 26.3 ppg as a senior when he led the Yellow Jackets to the 2018 state championship.

Langkabel currently plays basketball at Marian University in Indianapolis.

Michaela Kikendall

The 2015 Morristown graduate is the girls basketball career scoring leader with 1,397 points. She also is second in rebounds, steals and assists.

 

 

Kikendall averaged 15.5 ppg for her career, which included sectional championships in 2014 and 2015.

She played college basketball at Purdue Northwest.
