Waldron's Mitchell, TC's Sego selected IBCA Honorable Mention All-State

Waldron’s Lucas Mitchell and Triton Central’s Eli Sego were honored by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association with Honorable Mention All-State status.

Mitchell, a senior named to the senior all-state honorable mention squad, averaged 19.7 points and 7.7 rebounds for the Mohawks this past season. He surpassed 1,000 career points late in the season and finished as Waldron’s sixth all-time leading scorer.

Sego (photo, left), a freshman selected as underclass honorable mention all-state, averaged 12.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists for Triton Central in his inaugural season.

The IBCA also released its 15 seniors and 15 underclass boys basketball players selected as IBCA/Franciscan Health “Supreme 15” All-State.

The Supreme 15 seniors are Xavier Booker (Cathedral), Markus Burton (Penn), Myles Colvin (Heritage Christian), Zane Doughty (Ben Davis), Joey Hart (Linton-Stockton), Logan Imes (Zionsville), Mason Jones (Valparaiso), A.J. Lux (Crown Point), Sam Orme (Carmel), Ian Raasch (NorthWood), JaQualon Roberts (Bloomington North), Sheridan Sharp (Ben Davis), Jaron Tibbs (Cathedral), Brandon Trilli (Munster) and Ashton Williamson (Gary 21st Century).

The Supreme 15 underclassmen are Isaac Andrews (Wapahani), Jack Benter (Brownstown Central), Flory Bidunga (Kokomo), Dezmon Briscoe (Crispus Attucks), Sabien Cain (University), Kanon Catchings (Brownsburg), Jalen Harrison (Fishers), Brauntae Johnson (Fort Wayne North), Carter Kent (Jennings County), Chase Konieczny (South Bend St. Joseph), Tyler Parrish (Chesterton), Kellen Pickett (Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian), Azavier Robinson (Lawrence North), Justin Sims (Chesterton) and Trent Sisley (Heritage Hills).

Other notable honorees were New Palestine’s Ian Stephens (Large School All-State Senior), Eastern Hancock’s Jacob and Silas Spaulding (Small School All-State Seniors), Franklin’s Micah Davis (Large School All-State Underclassman) and Greenfield-Central’s Braylon Mullins (Large School All-State Underclassman).
