Eighteen men have been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2020 Silver Anniversary Team, based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
The team includes 12 members named to the 1995 Indiana All-Star squad. Six other all-state players are included to recognize the top of Indiana’s high school class of 1995.
1995 Indiana All-Stars include Mr. Basketball Damon Frierson, Kent Ayer, DuanyDuany, Michael Edison, Alan Eldridge, Chuck Gilbert, Courtney James, T.J. Lux, Jack Owens, James Patterson, Chad Peckinpaugh and Eric Riggs.
The remaining six, named to various all-state teams are: Brad Bixler, Keion Brooks, Kyle Huckeby, Mike Renfro, Brad Stevens and Marcus Wilson.
All Men’s Silver Anniversary Team members will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 59thAnnual Men’s Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
A midday reception, free and open to the public, will be held at the Hall of Fame museum in New Castle. The evening banquet will take place at the Primo Banquet Hall, which is located on the south side of Indianapolis.

AP high honorable mention all-state and IBCA all-state after averaging 10.4 ppg and 6.5 assists as a senior for Red Devils’ 23-5 state finalist squad… averaged 7 ppg and 7 assists as junior for 22-3 sectional championship team and played 31 games as sophomore for 1993 state championship team… set school records in single-game 3s made, single-game FT%, season 3s made (56) , 2nd in season 3 attempts, 3rd in career assists (456), 3rd in career FT% (81%), 4th in season assists (182), 7th in games played (86), 7th in career 3s made (82), 11th in assists per game and played in 22 IHSAA state tournament games… teams were 74-10 over three years, winning two conference championships, three sectional titles, two regional & semi-state titles, 1995 state finalists and 1993 state champs… totaled 1,246 points and 401 assists in 107 games in four seasons at Bellarmine College, currently ranking 24th in career points, 4th in career FT% (83%), 6th in season 3FG made (70), 2nd in career 3FG made (246), 7th in career steals (118), 5th in career assists (401) and 1st in single-game 3FG made and single-game 3FG%... two-time GLVC all-conference honors and two-time GLVC academic all-conference… was head coach of Atherton (KY) H.S. from 2003-2006, his teams twice finishing as district runner-up… he is an energy broker with TP-ICAP Energy in Louisville and lives in Louisville.

AP high honorable mention all-state and IBCA all-state after averaging 19.0 points and 5.2 rebounds as a senior on Redskins’ 21-5 regional champions… averaged 13.0 points and 4 assists per game as a junior, totaling 552 career points in two seasons… received 1995 Tiffany Gooden Award, 1995 Nancy Rehm All-Star MVP and member of 1995 Top 40 workout… in 109 career games at Wright State University, scored 1,766 points, earning Midwestern Collegiate Conference all-freshman team honors, followed by three years of MCC all-conference honors (once 2nd team, twice 1st team)… averaged 14.6 points as a sophomore, 17.1 points as junior and 20.7 points as a senior, earning 1999 Wright State Male Athlete of the Year… since 2002 has worked for GM and from 2013-2018 was assistant coach at Fort Wayne North… he resides in Fort Wayne.

1995 Indiana All-Star, AP 2nd team all-state, and IBCA all-state, averaging 21.7 points for 23-3 regional champions as a senior… AP high honorable mention, IBCA 1st team underclass all-state and Bloomington H-T 2nd team underclass all-state as a junior, averaging 22.0 points for 20-4 sectional champs… totaled 1,655 career points, 396 rebounds, 351 assists and 248 steals, averaging 20+ ppg for three seasons… single-game high of 53 points in 1995 semi-state vs. FW North… 3-time all-area team, 1995 Area Player of the Year, 3-year all-conference, 3-time all-sectional, two-time all-regional and 1995 all-semi-state honors… Totaled 1,257 career points at Bethel College, with his 303 career steals 2nd best in program history, a school-record 10 steals in one game, and a 2.2/1 assist-to-turnover ratio that is 4th best in Bethel history… he was a part of teams that were 141-16 in four years, winning 1997 and 1998 NAIA National Championships and 1999 national finalists… since 2009, he has been the head coach at LaVille High School, with nine consecutive winning seasons, two sectional championships (their first in 26 years), a 34-game regular season winning streak and the 1st undefeated regular season in school history (23-0 in 2017-18)… he resides in Plymouth.

1995 Mr. Basketball, Indiana All-Star, Gatorade Indiana Player of the Year, McDonald’s All-American, AP 1st team all-state, Indianapolis News 1st team all-state, Bloomington H-T 1st team all-state, IBCA all-state, Marion County Player of the Year and Metro Player of the Year after averaging 20.4 ppg for 32-1 state champions as a senior… set Ben Davis season (661) and career (1,452) scoring records in three-year varsity career, also earning 1994 AP 1st team all-state, 1993 AP high honorable mention all-state and 1994 & 1993 1st team underclass all-state honors as a member of teams that were 86-7 making three consecutive state finals appearances and winning three straight Marion County titles… scored 1,644 career points in 119 games at Miami (OH) University, earning two-time MAC all-conference honors… Miami teams won two MAC titles, one MAC Tournament title and reached 1999 NCAA Sweet 16… he played professionally in Belgium, Slovenia and Bosnia… he is now special assistant in the Miami men’s basketball program… he resides in Oxford, Ohio.

1995 Indiana All-Star, AP honorable mention all-state and IBCA honorable mention all-state after averaging 15.5 points for 23-3 sectional champions as a senior… was a member of Cathedral’s 19-4 sectional champions as a junior in the 1993-94 season, averaging 5.3 points… attended James Madison University for one season before completing career at the University of Indianapolis, averaging 14.4 points as a junior and 14.0 points as a senior… a relationship manager with Star Financial… he resides in Indianapolis.
KYLE HUCKEBY NEW CASTLE
AP high honorable mention, IBCA all-state and Muncie Star Player of the Year, averaging 20.4 points and 8.3 rebounds as senior for 24-3 regional champions… earned IBCA 1st team underclass all-state and Bloomington H-T 3rd team underclass all-state as junior, averaging 20.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists for 18-7 sectional champion team… totaled 1,633 career points, graduating 3rd in New Castle history and 10th in North Central Conference history… voted to New Castle all-century team and 1990’s all-decade team… averaged over 20 ppg in junior and senior seasons on 12 FG attempts per game… walked on at Ball State, but underwent preseason back surgery that never allowed him to play again… employed in farming, since 2011 he has been the owner-operator of Huckeby Trucking… he resides in New Castle.

1995 Indiana All-Star, 1995 Trester Award winner, AP 3rd team all-state, Bloomington H-T 1st team all-state, IBCA all-state and academic all-state after averaging 18.8 points and 8 rebounds for 27-2 state runners-up… averaged 13 ppg and 8 rebounds as a junior for Pirates’ 1994 17-7 sectional championship team… earned all-conference, all-area and Northwest Indiana Student-Athlete of the Year awards and was named all-state in tennis… re-wrote record book at Northern Illinois University including career scoring (1,996) and career rebounding (1,110) records, as well as top ten rankings in program history with 116 games played, 156 blocks and 130 steals… he was four-time 1st team all-conference, three-time Academic All-American and the 2000 Academic All-American Player of the Year… he played professionally for seven seasons in Germany and France, twice being named League MVP, once runner-up for League MVP and earning two all-star honors… he coached at Merrillville High School from 2009-2019, including leading them to three conference titles, three sectional titles and two regional titles in seven seasons as head coach… he resides in Crown Point.

AP honorable mention all-state, Bloomington H-T 3rd team small school all-state, IBCA honorable mention all-state, Indianapolis all-metro team, IBCA 1st team academic all-state, sectional MVP and all-conference honors after averaging 26.8 points for 13-11 sectional champions his senior season… led state in 1995 sectional scoring, averaging 32.3 ppg leading Eagles to their first sectional title in nine years… set Zionsville career records in points (1,508), assists (491), steals (157) and 3FG made (138)… was three-time all-conference pick… played in all 103 games of four-year career at DePauw University, totaling 791 points, earning Coaches Award as a senior and three-time Academic All-American nominee… as head coach of Butler University from 2007-2013, he led them to a 166-49 record, five NCAA Tournament appearances, four Horizon League championships, and back-to-back national runner-up finishes in 2010 and 2011 and earned two-time Horizon League Coach of the Year and 2011 National Coach of the Year awards… in his 7th season as head coach of the Boston Celtics, had a 270-222 NBA record in his first six seasons, making two Eastern Conference Finals appearances and earning 2017 NBA All-Star Game head coaching duties… he resides in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
MARCUS WILSON SOUTH BEND RILEY
AP 3rd team all-state, Bloomington H-T 1st team all-state and IBCA all-state after averaging 21.3 points for 19-5 sectional champions his senior season… was 1994 AP honorable mention all-state as a junior, averaging 21.5 ppg and averaged 15.5 points as a sophomore, to total 1,385 career points… two-time team MVP set school records in career FT% (.856), season FT% (.871), season FT made (122), single-game FT (16-16) and single-game FT% (1.000)… became Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year (1999) at the University of Evansville, scoring 2,053 points in 119 games in four years… set UE record for consecutive FTs made (48) and tied NCAA record with 9-9 3FGs, while earning three-time MVC all-conference honors and later being named to the UE all-time team, UE Athletics Hall of Fame and one of the 50 Greatest Players in Missouri Valley Conference history… played professionally for 11 seasons, including the Utah Jazz summer league team, Venezuala, France and Ukraine… spent three seasons as Video Coordinator for St. Louis University men’s basketball program… since 2016 has been Executive Director of YMCA of Greater St. Louis… he resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
