A Florida man was killed in a Memorial Day car crash in Shelby County.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department at 3:45 pm Monday, Robert J. Gladfelter 64, of Orlando, Florida, was killed in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Old State Road 252 and State Road 9 in Shelby County. 

Gladfelter was a passenger in the Buick passenger car driven by Michael Gladfelter, 68, of Knightstown, Indiana. 

The Buick was struck by a 2008 Town and Country minivan driven by Tacaria Brotherton, 38, of Union City, Indiana.  Brotherton was injured and taken to Major Hospital by Shelbyville medics. 

Michael Gladfelter was injured and flown by Lifeline to Methodist Hospital.

Evidence at the scene indicates that the Buick driven by Gladfelter failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by the southbound minivan driven by Brotherton. 

The Flat Rock Volunteer Fire Department and Shelbyville medics assisted at the scene.
