IMPD warns of fake $100 bills used throughout the city

Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department caution business owners, employees, and residents to be aware of a rash of $100 bills (U.S. Currency) recently being used to defraud local businesses.

Detectives are investigating cases throughout the city where different suspects have been using $100 to purchase gas, gift cards, and other items.

The U.S. Currency Education Program provides tips on how to distinguish real from fake $100 bills. Screenshots from the website are included in this post. To learn more visit https://www.uscurrency.gov/denominations/100.
