Myra E. Owens, 62, of Morristown passed away Saturday, April 13, 2019 at her home.

She was born April 8, 1957, in Shelbyville, the daughter of William and Phyllis (Thie) Miller.

Myra is survived by her mother of Morristown; son, Jerrod Owens of Shelbyville; brothers, Bob Miller and John Miller, both of Morristown; sisters, Carmalie Seitz of Depauw, Marleen Miller of Morristown, and Ann Miller of Montgomery, Alabama; grandchildren, Kenya, Shane, Joshua, Izabel and Hazel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Myra was a 1975 graduate of Eastern Hancock High School.

She was a member of Morristown Methodist Church.

Myra retired from Freudenburg NOK, with 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked at Plastic Moldings for over 10 years, retiring in 2018.

She was also a member of the Morristown American Legion Auxiliary.

Myra was an avid reader, enjoying novels by James Patterson and Danielle Steel.

She cherished her grandchildren and loved to spend time with them.

Myra was also preceded in death her dog, Baron.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Myra Owens Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
