Phillip D. Nigh, Sr., 78, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019
at his residence.
Born October 29, 1941 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Kuhn Nigh and Evelyn
Eileen (Bush) Nigh. He married Karen Sue (Humphrey) Nigh on February 6, 1960
and she preceded him on May 13, 2014.
Survivors include children- Phillip Dale Nigh (wife Mistie) of Shelbyville, Joseph I.
Nigh (Marie Galle) of Indianapolis, Shellie Nigh Bryant (husband Ed) of Indianapolis,
Penny Nigh Johnson (husband Rodney) of Indianapolis; brother Harlan L. Nigh (wife
Bernice) of Hope, sister Kathy Plunkett (husband Jim) of Shelbyville; sister-in-law
Betty Nigh of Shelbyville; 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and family dog
Minky Nigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son William Robert
Nigh, and brother Lloyd H. Nigh.
Mr. Nigh was a lifelong resident of this area, and attended Triton Central High School.
He had been a machinist at KT Corp., retiring after over 20 years of service.
Funeral services will be 7:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Glenn E. George
& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating. Burial
will be in Fairland Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday evening from
5:00 pm until the time of the service.
