Joseph Lawrence “Joe” Riemenschneider, 74, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

He was born April 12, 1945 in Shelbyville, the son of Walter A. and Helen (Bansbach) Riemenschneider.

Joe is survived by his nieces, Melanie Bachmeyer and husband, Jonathan, of Columbus, and Melissa Wiley and husband, Robert DiBlasi, of Chicago, Illinois; great-nephew, George Julian Bachmeyer; and great-niece, Hazel Annmarie Bachmeyer.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Carol A. Wiley; brother-in-law, Julian N. Wiley; and aunt, Mildred Bansbach and husband, Joseph.

Joe graduated in 1963 from Shelbyville High School and in 1967 received his master’s degree in business from Xavier University.

He was raised attending St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Joe enjoyed waterskiing, playing tennis, cycling and refurbishing his rental properties. He greatly enjoyed his travels to the beaches in Marco Island, Florida.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shelbyville.
