 Lisa June Powell, 58, of Shelbyville

  Lisa June Powell, 58, of Shelbyville, passed away in her home, on June 22, 2020.

 

  She was born April 27, 1962 in Nashville, Tennessee, to Clayborne and Lucy Roberts.

 

  She graduated from Southwestern High School in 1981.

 

  She married her long time love, Charles Powell, on May 25, 1991.

 

  She worked multiple years being a substitute teacher. She enjoyed coaching Special Olympics, helping with the youth at church, and shopping. She retired and became a certified Nana. She spent most of her time being with her family and enjoying the most important moments.

 

  Lisa was a compassionate and generous person. She enjoyed living life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with her friends, making crafts, and spending time with her grandson.

 

  Lisa had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She was a lifelong member of Flat Rock Christian Church.

 

  She is survived by her husband, Charles, her beloved daughter; Sara Doyle, (husband, Patrick), of Indianapolis, her precious grandson; Maddux Doyle, her sister Pamela Moore, of Shelbyville, nephews, Bryan Moore of Arizona (wife Heidi), Nicholas Moore (fiancée, Lauren), of Indianapolis, Kaylee Moore, (significant other, Colm) of Ireland, and great niece Luna, of Arizona. 

 

  She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. 

 

  Family, friends, and others whose lives Lisa touched are invited to Murphy- Parks Funeral Home, 703 S Harrison St, Shelbyville, IN 46176, from 4 to 8 pm. Thursday, June 25, 2020.

 

  A private family graveside service will follow.

 

  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Special Olympics of Shelby County. 

 

  Lisa will be remembered as a vibrant, loving woman and she will be deeply missed.
