Patricia Lou Morgan, 82, of Shelbyville, formerly of Fairland passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at her home.
She was born September 25, 1937, in Shelby County, the daughter of Ralph and Nettie E. (Truax) Hill.
Patricia is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Bushong and husband Doug, of Johnson City, Tennessee, Teresa Lawless and husband, Jim, of Morristown, Marilyn A. Reed Smith of Indianapolis, Carolyn B. Reed Young and husband, Michael, of Fountaintown, Barbara Lanman and husband, Jay, of Cicero, and Annette Fisher and husband, Bob, of Indianapolis; sister, Isabell Baker; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mamie Bennett; and brothers, Danny Ivan Hill and Harold Hill.
Patricia was a 1955 graduate of Mount Auburn High School, she attended Purdue University and received her licensed practical nursing degree from Ivy Tech College.
She formerly worked as a secretary to the nursing program at Marion College. She also enjoyed working at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. In her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, she worked at Community East Hospital, Winona Hospital, Ashford Place Health Campus, Heritage House, and home care and nursing agencies.
Patricia was formerly a 4-Her and was a Shelby County Corn Queen.
She enjoyed fishing, camping and canoeing. Patricia loved animals and tending to her gardens. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed catering dinners.
Patricia also enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
