Paul Wayman Smith, 82, Greenfield

Paul Wayman Smith, 82, Greenfield, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospice. Paul was born on July 14, 1938 in Celina, TN, to William and Nell (Long) Smith.

Paul worked for E & B Paving in Anderson, IN, for many years. Paul was a quiet man, mostly staying to himself. But he did enjoy trout fishing in Tennessee, watching NASCAR on TV, hunting, watching Western movies on TV, and visiting with friends at the local Goodwill many times a day, everyday, as well as collecting others’ discarded treasures to make his own. Paul was a member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Greenfield.

Paul is survived by his children: Loretta (Danny) Wells and Margaret McKeeman; step-daughter, Toni Johnson; grandchildren: Danny Wells, Jr., Robby McDonald, Brittany Tiller, and Dylan Wells; great-grandchildren: Alexis, Danny, Gavin, Brandon, and Anna; and brother, June Smith.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian (Johnson) Smith; and brothers: James Smith and Ronnie Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. The funeral will begin immediately following visitation with Brother Joe Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, where Paul will be laid to rest next to his wife, Lillian.
