Helen Barbara Greene, 90, of Fairland, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Walker Place in Shelbyville.

She was born December 25, 1929 in Martin County, IN to Henry Edward Bauer and Mary (Mann) Bauer.

Mrs. Greene was a bookkeeper at K-Mart for 15 years, retiring April 1, 1987.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.  She was a breast cancer survivor of 19 years.

Helen enjoyed her bowling league at Blue River Bowl, embroidery, and doing crossword puzzles. She cherished her times singing with her sisters while her husband played the guitar.  Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and friends.

She married Thomas Gilbert Greene on December 13, 1952 and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2010.

Helen is survived by her children, Barbara (Doug) Cooper; Edward (Terri) Greene; Gail Gleason; and Linda (Steve) Beatty, all of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Margaret (Armin) Zehr; Pete (Lea) Bauer; Louis (Helen) Bauer; Anna (Lee) Troutman; August (Helen) Bauer; and Kenneth Bauer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Rose Marie McKibben, her brothers, Walton Bauer, and George Bauer, and her granddaughter, Kelly Cooper, who passed away on August 12, 2011.

Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1560 N. Michigan Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Pastor Jerrell Simmerman officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Helen’s family.
