Thomas M. Wainscott, 70, of Wilkinson, formerly of Shelbyville

Thomas M. Wainscott, 70, of Wilkinson, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital.

 

He was born June 7, 1950, in Shelbyville, the son of Melvin "Catfish" Wainscott and Mary (Worland) Wainscott.

 

He married Debra (Lockridge) Wainscott on September 17, 1988, and she survives.

 

He is also survived by his son, George T. Wainscott, of Wilkinson, his sisters, Sue Barnes, and Pam (Ron) DeBaun, all of Shelbyville, his nephew, Michael (Robbie) Daniels, his great-nephew, Robert Schwier, his great-niece, Hayley (Jacob) Cooper, his great-great-nephew, Jace Cooper, his special friends, Gary and Kathy Collard, and several other relatives and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, George and Norma Lockridge, his nephew, Robert Clinton Schwier, and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Barnes.

   

Tom graduated from Morristown High School in 1968.  He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served two tours in Germany.

   

Tom was a dedicated husband and father.  Tom and Debbie enjoyed riding their motorcycles, going to auctions and garage sales, and spending time with family and friends.

 

He was a member of the Markleville Masonic Lodge #629.  Tom served in various law enforcement positions after graduating from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.  He enjoyed target shooting and listening to country music.

 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN.

 

Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Mohr officiating.

 

Burial will be in Harlan Cemetery in Wilkinson, IN.

  

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Tom's family.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Murphy-Parks Funeral Service to assist the family with expenses.
