Jeffrey Scott Stearns, Jr., 39

Jeffrey Scott Stearns, Jr., 39, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 2, 2021.

 

Jeffrey was born on January 6, 1982 in New Castle, IN, to Jeffrey Scott Stearns, Sr. and Rena (Miller) Stearns. He attended Knightstown High School.

Jeffrey owned and operated JS Concrete for 18 years.

 

He was a member of the Greenfield Masonic Lodge as well as St. James Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Jeffrey was a people person, the life of the party, the family photographer, and the handy man. He enjoyed grilling out, watching movies, wearing crazy socks, listening to music, sitting by the fire, hosting parties and holiday gatherings, and spending time with his family and children.

He is survived by his loving wife Jessie (Moss) Stearns of 12 years; children: Olivia Moss, Kearsten Stearns, Sophia Moss, Amelia Stearns, Eli Stearns, and Luke Stearns; mother and step-father, Rena (Dan) Grammel; brother, Justin (Desiree) Stearns; sister, Reanna Stearns; grandmother, Virginia Stearns; grandfather and step-grandmother, Robert (Linda) Miller; parents-in-law, Bob and Annie Moss; additional extended family; work family; and many friends.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Scott Stearns, Sr.; grandfather, K. Irvin Stearns, Sr.; and grandmother, Roberta Miller.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home has been honored to assist Jeffrey and his family during this difficult time.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S. State St., Greenfield, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m., also at the church, officiated by Pastor Doug Gast.

 

Jeffrey will be laid to rest next to his father and grandfather in Glen Cove Cemetery.
