Nola A. Posz, 90, of Waldron

Nola A. Posz, 90, of Waldron passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

She was born July 27, 1931, in Shelby County, the daughter of James and Josephine (Lawver) Eckstein. On February 14, 1954, she married Norman Posz, and he preceded her in death July 17, 1997.

Nola is survived by her daughters, Leesa Marie Hoban of Aurelia, Iowa, and Charlene Ann Merrill of Waldron; son-in-law, David Merrill of Waldron; granddaughters, Rebecca Hoban Sangwin and Chelsea Preston; and great-grandchildren, Dalton Sangwin, Josephine Embacher, Brian Embacher and Colton Seman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma Wilson and son-in-law, Jeff Hoban.

Nola graduated in 1949 from Shelbyville High School.

She formerly worked at Waldron Health Care, as a dietary assistant and cook, with 20 years of service, retiring in 2002. Nola had also worked at JCPenney and Home Telephone Company.

Nola was a member of Zion Church of Christ.

She enjoyed crocheting and playing Euchre and Bingo.

Nola was the family caretaker.

She was also preceded in death by her cat, Baby and dog, Oggie.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Zion Cemetery in Shelby County, with Pastor Brad Schultz officiating.
