Danny Phillip Stanton, 76, of Edinburgh

Danny Phillip Stanton, 76, of Edinburgh, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021

at his residence.

 

Born May 11, 1945 in Franklin, he was the son of Mark Stanton and Mildred (Stubbs) Stanton.  He married Janet (Hatfield) Stanton on May 1, 1965 and she preceded him on November 1, 2006.

 

Survivors include 3 daughters- Devonay Potter of Columbus, Tamara Mudd (husband Joe) of Edinburgh, Desiree Coulston of Shelbyville; 2 sisters- Rebecca Parks of Michigan, Jane Ann Roberts of Columbus; friend Beverly Stanton of St. Paul; 6 grandchildren- Justin Goode,  Katie Mayer (husband Logan), Lindsay Potter, Chet Mudd, Cameron Coulston, and David Coulston. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, a grandson Kyle Mudd,

6 brothers- Robert Stanton, Joseph Stanton, Jerry Stanton, James Stanton, twin David Stanton, Donald Stanton, and 3 sisters- Norma Myers, Mary Brown, and Elinor Thopy.

 

Mr. Stanton was a lifetime  resident of this area, and graduated from Southwestern High School in 1963.  In addition to being a lifelong self employed farmer, he was owner/operator of Key Paving, retiring after 27 years of operating the business. 

 

He attended Calvary Christian Church in  Edinburgh.

 

Danny enjoyed camping, boating, snowmobiling, golfing, mushroom hunting, and working with his cattle.  He loved his family and grandchildren, and cherished the time he spent with them.

 

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road with Rev. David Humphrey officiating. 

 

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.

 

Friends may call on Saturday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
