Barbara Ann Livingston, 92, of Shelbyville

Barbara Ann Livingston, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Ashford Place Health Campus.

 

She was born January 28, 1930 in Shelbyville to Loren and Myrtle (Wood) Thurston. 

  

Barbara was a 1949 graduate of Shelbyville High School.

 

She married Ernest Livingston, Jr. on November 25, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2011.

 

Barbara is survived by her son, Randy (Joan) Livingston, her daughter, Robin Livingston, all of Shelbyville; her grandchildren, Lori (Dale) Miller of Bloomington; and Michael (Jennifer) Livingston of Greenwood, her great-grandchildren, Mason Miller, Luke Miller, Alex Miller, Jacob Livingston, and Clara Livingston, and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and great-grandson, Andrew Livingston.

 

Barbara did clerical work for the Government while her husband was enlisted.  She retired from KCL after many years working as a secretary.

 

Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She enjoyed knitting, watching game shows, working crossword puzzles, and reading.  She was very competitive when playing scrabble.  Her passion was knitting and she would always be knitting clothes and sweaters for different people in the community.

 

After retiring, she and her late husband enjoyed sightseeing and traveling across the country, being the host at many campgrounds while traveling. 

 

Visitation will be from Noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2002 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Mike Keucher officiating.

 

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens & Crematory

 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Barbara’s family.
