Janet Ann Cooper, 88 of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at her residence.

Born February 26, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana she was the daughter of Robert Woodrow Shortridge & Muriel Irene (Wiseman) Kingery.

She married Sylvester Cooper on December 25, 1983 and he preceded her on December 31, 2021.

Survivors include children- Diane Essex (husband Jack) of Shelbyville, Geary Van Scyoc (wife Karen) of Sheridan, Carla Van Scyoc (Gary) of Shelbyville, Sue Goodrich (husband John) of Shelbyville, Jon Van Scyoc (wife Reyounora) of Las Vegas, Cheri Justus of Shelbyville, Brenda Browning of Mississippi, Steven Van Scyoc (wife Elizabeth) of New Palestine, Amy Daniel.

(husband Shannon) of Fairland; 3 stepchildren- Bill Cooper of Muncie, Robin Miller of Midland, Texas, Martha Jones of Muncie; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, stepfather Claude Kingery and brother James Shortridge.

Mrs. Cooper had lived in this area her entire lifetime and was a homemaker. Janet attended Greenfield High School, Trinity United Methodist Church and had been a bookkeeper at Haag Drugs for several years.

Janet was an avid reader, and absolutely loved Christmastime and the Holidays, decorating, cooking and entertaining. She loved her family and the time she spent with them.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Friday, June 17, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd. with Dr. Robb Barlow officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
