Ethel Louise Shelton, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022 at her residence.

She was born November 1, 1931 in Richmond, IN to Edwin Pugh and Marie (Gorbet) Pugh.

Mrs. Shelton attended Harristown High School.  She always enjoyed reading and doing word search puzzles.  She loved to volunteer at Major Hospital, especially the times she spent in the Oncology Department helping patients affected by breast cancer. 

Her favorite job was being a mother.  She was a caretaker at heart and always took great care of her family.

She married Russell A. Shelton on December 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1997. 

Mrs. Shelton is survived by her son Michael Shelton, her daughter, Claudia Wagner (husband, John); her son, Jeffrey Shelton (wife, Vicky); her grandchildren, Susan, Matthew, Mark, Brandon, Bradley, and Kim, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Gail Shelton, her son, Keith Shelton, her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Billy Johnson, her granddaughter, Jennifer Grote, and her sister, Mary Alice Davidson.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to Noon, Friday, October 21, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Jose Rivera officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
