Lloyd “Sonny” Taylor, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at Brickyard Healthcare-Brandywine Care Center.

He was born March 31, 1938 in Greenfield, IN to Paul V. Taylor and Dorothy L. (Bell) Taylor.

Sonny was a meat cutter at Standard Grocery for 39 years.    He loved working in the yard.  One of his favorite pastimes was shooting targets using muzzle loaders.  

He was a former retired member of United Meat Cutters International Union and the Muzzle Loaders Association in Friendship, IN.

He is survived by his son, David Ray Taylor, and his granddaughter, Angie (husband, Tony) Porter, all of Shelbyville, and his sisters, Delores Glasdock and Betty Andis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Marlene M. Taylor, his grandson, Logan Roy Taylor, and his sister, Susanna Brock.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jose Rivera officiating.

Burial will be in Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
